The Transcoding Webservice is a service developed by FH Dortmund, which can be downloaded from Github and installed on your own server:

The connection of the Transcoding Webservice to VIMP is included by standard starting with VIMP 4.4.
With the Transcoding Webservice you have the possibility to easily outsource the transcoding of your videos to a separate server and, if you have a graphics card, to speed up the transcoding even more.
